I began my yoga journey in 2004 with a weekly Iyengar class in Berkeley. The small, close-knit and caring environment was such a change from my work environment, and I was instantly hooked to the sense of respite and peace. Through my ten years of dedicated practice, I have been continuously awed by the power of yoga to heal the body and spirit. I am fascinated by the wisdom that different forms of yoga bring to your asana practice and to the deeper understanding of your spirit. I regularly practice many forms of yoga including Vinyasa, Iyengar, Yin, and Bikram.
I began teaching in 2012, and completed a multifaceted Vinyasa training that deepened my appreciation for stability and alignment in the asanas. I am committed to inspiring others to discover and nurture their inner spark by developing a strong asana practice through the connection between the breath and the body. I believe that good health and strength comes from a holistic view of your body, encouraging wellness through proper nutrition, hydration, exercise, and meditation. I have dedicated over a decade of my life to the study of science, and my work in the fields of chemistry and biotechnology meld with my study of holistic health to develop an informed, practical, and discerning approach to nutrition and wellness. By bringing gems of wisdom from multiple disciplines, I take a pragmatic approach to both my practice and teaching to create a playful and open-minded environment, helping you to discover the practice that works for your body.
